Can you still do Parent Rider Swap for rides that you've purchased an Individual Lightning Lane pass? Would you have to purchase the ILL for the kids not going on the ride?

Hey there, Courtney! Welcome back to planDisney!

Your visit to The Walt Disney World Resort is fast approaching, and sooner than you realize you’ll be at The Most Magical Place on Earth. You are quite the brave soul to venture to Disney World with tiny Mouseketeers. As a dad of four, I know all too well that Disney vacations with little ones can throw you some magical curveballs at times.

Courtney, Rider Switch is available for Individual Lightning Lane Entrances, and you only need to purchase the entrance for the Guests who are planning to ride the attraction. So if your younger kids are planning to hang out in the stroller, there’s no need to purchase the Individual Lightning Lane for them. When using Rider Switch with your Individual Lightning Lane entrance, simply approach the Cast Member at the attraction’s entrance after your window arrives and inform them of your need for Rider Switch. The Cast Member will scan your MagicBands and allow the first party to enter the attraction. Once they have completed their ride, the second party can enter the attraction. In my recent experience, the number of Guests who can ride the attraction twice was limited to one but can vary depending on the Cast Member.

If you find yourself as the guardian of the stroller while the first party experiences the attraction, I suggest grabbing the little ones a quick snack. Not only do you get to sink your teeth into a Disney snack, but you’ll be the favorite parent too - at least for a little while. But be sure to discard the evidence! You don’t want the rest of the family to be too jealous!

Be sure to remember that each Theme Park has a Baby Care Center available for Guests with young children. Each Baby Care Center has a quiet space for nursing mothers, diaper changing tables, and even a toddler space with Disney movies queued up. I’ve found that it’s a welcome place of relaxation when my kids need a minute to unwind. Because you know, it’s really hard being pushed 10 miles in a stroller!

I hope this helps, Courtney! The magic awaits!

    To Infinity and Beyond,
