Rider Switch service. With Rider Switch, guests take turns experiencing an attraction so that a non-rider never has to be alone. Once a cast member at the attraction sets this up with the first rider, the second rider gets to skip the standby queue and head straight to the Lightning Lane so they can have their turn. This service works phenomenally well for parents visiting with little ones who might not meet the height requirements for certain attractions.
You’ll be thrilled to hear that the Rider Switch service is available during special events like
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom. While waiting, the second rider can plan to enjoy a party-exclusive snack, visit and take photos with one of several Disney characters available at the party, dressed in their holiday best, or go shopping for
holiday merchandise. There are so many things to do at this party that it makes sense to have a plan for any down time!
Fun fact: did you know that one rider can join the second rider so they don’t have to enjoy the attraction alone? So, if your party includes an older Mouseketeer who meets the height requirement for the attraction you’re using Rider Switch on, your big kid can ride with rider 1
and rider 2! How great is that?! My oldest son loved this perk when we brought his baby brother to Disney World at 9 months old.
