Ahoy there, Michael! Thank you for visiting planDisney. I recently sailed on the
Disney Treasure and
parasailed on
Castaway Cay, so I am happy to share my experience with you.
You will check in at Marges Barges about 10 minutes before your Port Adventure start time. This is not far from the gangway. The tour operator will provide you with instructions, and then you will be on your way to parasailing. You will be taken away from the beach into open water. We parasailed on the port side of the ship, so we were closer to the family beach, but that may not always be the case. I took my small 4K camera with me with the intention of taking it up in the air, but decided against it, despite having a harness for it. The new pals I met on my excursion took pics of us right in front of the Treasure as we were going up, plus plenty of pics while we were in the air. It's a risk that you take if you want to take a camera with you!
Always check the messages in the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app during your sailing because changes to your Port Adventures will be listed there. On Castaway, a board is set up in front of Marges Barges to provide any water activity cancellations due to the unpredictable weather. Parasailing has been cancelled for us before due to the winds.
Michael, I hope this helps you get ready for your upcoming cruise and get excited about parasailing. I can't wait to try it again! If you have any other questions, sail back to
planDisney for answers.
Just keep swimming,
JoVonn
