Welcome to planDisney, Vicki!
There's so much to see and do on a trip to Disney World, but viewing a parade at Magic Kingdom is at the top of my family's to-do list. There's something so special about seeing our favorite characters make their way down the parade route, whether they’re walking or waving from a float, all set to that familiar Disney music. Some of my favourite moments are simply watching my kids take it all in while happily waving to their character friends.
At the moment, Guests can enjoy two daily parades at Magic Kingdom. The
Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade kicks off daily at 2:00 PM, and the evening parade depends on whether
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is scheduled. On non-party nights, Guests are treated to
Starlight - a shimmering processional with thousands of lights led by the magical Blue Fairy. My kids loved it this summer - so much that we watched it twice! On Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party nights, Guests are treated to
Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade - a holiday parade with marching toy soldiers, dancing gingerbread men, and characters in their holiday best.
All parades begin in Frontierland (for the first showing, if there are two) and end after making their way down Main Street, U.S.A. For a second showing (Starlight or Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime parade), the route reverses, beginning near Town Square and ending in Frontierland near
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
If you're hoping for a picture-perfect backdrop, the hub offers an iconic view, but my family’s favourite spot is in Frontierland, especially for the second parade when crowds tend to thin out. There are lots of great vantage points in both Frontierland and Liberty Square, making it easy to find a comfortable place to enjoy the magic.
Wishing you the best time taking in all the magic along the parade route. If anything else pops up as you plan, I’m here and
happy to help!
Enjoy making magical memories,
Candace
