I have my paper tickets but my daughter made reservations for the whole family on her Disney account. I want to make hotel reservations and other things for my grandkids. How do I use my Disney without a reservation on my account?

A warm welcome from all of us at planDisney to you, Rebecca. We’re so glad you stopped by with this question and I’m delighted to help.

It won’t be long until you’ll be walking down Main Street, U.S.A. with a churro or Mickey-shaped treat in hand. I’m so glad to hear that you already have your theme park reservations for your visit, a great first step. Linking your theme park to your MyDisney account is easier than saying, “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,” and I’m happy to be your guide.

An easy way to accomplish this is in the Disneyland app. Open the app and tap the “☰“ in the bottom right to open the menu. Next, tap the “My Tickets & Passes” tile, followed by the “+” in the upper right corner. Tap “Link Tickets & Passes” and you can use the camera to quickly scan the barcode on your ticket to link. You can also manually type in the ticket number by using the ”Type ID” option. Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo, that’s all there is to it! Your ticket and theme park reservation are linked to your MyDisney account.

It sounds like you want to link your tickets because you’re thinking about staying at a Disneyland Resort hotel. I love staying on property and in the Disney bubble whenever I get a chance. You will also enjoy one complimentary Lightning Lane Entry per registered Guest during your stay. To ensure that your entire party receives this benefit, make sure to link everyone’s theme park tickets to your account with the hotel reservation and register everyone as a hotel guest.

Have you thought about which hotel you might like to stay at? I think my favorite will always be the Disneyland Hotel. It’s so iconic and filled with so much nostalgia. If you happen to be a Disney+ subscriber, there’s an episode of Behind the Attraction (Season 1, Episode 7) all about the history of the Disneyland Hotel, and it’s such a fun watch.

Well, Rebecca, I hope this helps you get to your next step in planning your magical visit. Please come back to see us with any other questions. Here’s wishing you a most magical time at the Happiest Place on Earth. Let the countdown begin!
