How can I get paper copies of park maps? I am not interested in printing maps at home but a large printed map so the kids can spread it out and plan out their day.

    Hi Francisca,

    Welcome to planDisney!

I, too, love planning out my days before I leave for my Walt Disney World Resort vacations. I like to use Winnie the Pooh as a role model and I plan all my trips around what snacks I want to enjoy.

Unfortunately, Walt Disney World no longer mails out copies of park maps. But there are four other ways for your kids to plan out their days. As you have already mentioned, each park has a digital map that you can download and have printed at your local printing shop. I took this route when I wanted a map of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge as a gift. I could get as large of a map as I wanted for a minimal price. The other great thing about this option is your kids can have multiple different drafts of their day because you can print as many as you would like. Here are the links to each park's maps.

    Magic Kingdom
    Disney's Hollywood Studios
    EPCOT

Another option is to leverage the interactive map found on the Walt Disney World Resort website. The nice thing about this is that you and your family can start to get a sense of the estimated wait times for attractions. Knowing wait times will help you plan and accomplish everything that your kids want to do in a day without spending too much time in lines.

Speaking of maximizing and planning your kids' perfect day, have you met Genie? Disney's Genie service helps you maximize your time in the park by creating a personalized itinerary based on your family's wish list. I mentioned earlier that I love snacks, but I often have to balance that with riding the latest rides when I travel with my family. With Genie, I just input our different must-dos, and Genie will create a planned out day for us. The great thing is that it continues to update throughout the day, so if the standby line for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train goes down, we can pivot our schedule and wait there instead of staying in a longer line. The best part is: It's free to use through your My Disney Experience app.

If you genuinely want to have a printed map for planning that is the exact map handed out at the park, you can order from an online resale shop. The prices range but it could be an ideal solution for what you seek.

I hope this was helpful, please let me or my fellow panelists know if you have any more questions.
