I am in panic mode right now because I just found out that a non-sanctioned annual event overlaps our vacation (5/29-6/5) to DW. I don't have a problem wth their orientation I'm just wondering if there will be unbearable crowds and overt behavior? Help?

    Hi Dawna,

I have been down many times during that specific weekend.  Orlando is a popular destination for numerous conventions, and Walt Disney World is often part of that appeal.

Just like any other convention, there is not really a noticeable increase in crowds.  While many convention goers do tend to bring their families on specific days, Walt Disney World can handle huge amounts of guests.  Because Hollywood Studios is a smaller park, I might recommend that you not visit on Friday, June 1.  Saturdays at Magic Kingdom are always crowded.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
