Hi Moms Panel, Please could someone tell me about the main street vehicles. Do they have to be booked in advance? Are they free? Are there long wait times for them? How do I go about riding one? Thank you

Greetings, Katy! Some of my favorite early mornings at Walt Disney World Resort's Magic Kingdom are spent greeting the nice folks of the “town” and my son getting offical Fireman stickers from the resident fireman. Have you spoken to the ladies with the parasols? I simply must know where they get their hats made!

The vehicles that drive up and down Main Street, U.S.A. offer one day rides from Town Square and the Firehouse to Cinderella Castle and back again. Each end of the trip will welcome a new batch of guests into the car.  The vehicles, which include the Walt Disney World Firetruck, Horse drawn carriage and open-air car operate until about 11am, when the park gets much more crowded. It’s hard to honk your way down the street when there are so many guests about! If there isa  morning that is not particularly busy, you may see the Omnibus, a double decker monster lumbering down the streets, which is a site to behold!

Of course, weather will determine if the vehicles are running, but if you see one, ask the Cast Member that is driving if you may board or where you may queue for the next ride. It’s free to take a ride, with no reservations available, and I hope you get to wave to the crowd as you’re escorted “right down the middle of Main Street, U.S.A!” Please let me know if there is anything else I might help you with, and have a magical vacation! ~ Lindsey P.
