Hi Panelists! Our waitlist just came through for our DVC stay at the Polynesian. We have a lake view studio. Are the lake view rooms in the Moorea building refurbished with the murphy beds or do they still have the pull-out couches? Thanks so much!

    Aloha, Melissa!

Welcome to planDisney from a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member.  You're only a few days away from arriving at Walt Disney World Resort –– you must be getting so excited!!! With its laid-back island vibe, monorail access to Magic Kingdom Park, and a limitless supply of DOLE Whip from Pineapple Lanai, Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows is one of my favorite Disney Vacation Club Resorts.  The Resort has undergone extensive renovations over the last few years, including a beautiful reimagining of the Great Ceremonial House entrance and monorail station, so I can't wait for you to see it!

I'm happy to report that the refurbishments of the DVC Deluxe Studios in the Moorea building were completed in September 2021.  This included a soft goods update, as well as the addition of murphy-style queen-size and single-size beds in each room.  I have an upcoming stay at The Polynesian later this year and I can't wait to check out these new updates.  I think you and your family are going to love them!

While you're exploring everything Disney's Polynesian Village Resort has to offer, be sure to wander over to my favorite Walt Disney World hideaway, Trader Sam's Grog Grotto.  My family loves digging into the Kalua Pork Tacos and the Pan-fried Dumplings and you can even order a cocktail complete with a souvenir tiki mug to take home.  Underaged adventurers are welcome at Trader Sam's until 8:00 PM, but it switches to an over-21 crowd from 8:00 until close, so just be aware if you're traveling with younger Guests.  And unlike other restaurants, Trader Sam's doesn't take reservations, but it does operate with a virtual queue.  You can get in line to join the virtual queue beginning about 30 minutes before the restaurant opens at 3:00 PM.

Mahalo for visiting us planDisney, Melissa.  I'm wishing you lots of tropical breezes and island-infused pixie dust during your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation!

    See Ya Real Soon,
    Amy
