Hi there Cecilia, welcome to planDisney!
How exciting that you will be taking your tiny Mouseketeer for your first visit! I definitely recommend stopping by City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park or at Guest Services at Disney California Adventure Park to pickup your complimentary "First Visit" button. If you proudly display it during your trip, I'm sure you'll receive some fun shout-outs from Cast Members and Guests.
In terms of where to stay, you cannot go wrong with one of the
Disneyland Resort Hotels. We had wonderful stays here when our kids were under a year old, and it was comfortable for everyone. You'll be within walking distance to both theme parks as well as the
Downtown Disney District, and the Cast Members were always so accommodating to anything we needed assistance with during our trip.
For
attractions, we preferred ones that we could take our kids on if they were sleeping in the baby carrier, or could easily sit on our lap and explore what was around them. In Disneyland Park, we loved experiencing the attractions in Fantasyland such as Storybook Land Canal Boats, Casey Jr. Circus Train, and "it's a small world." Over in Disney California Adventure Park, we loved going under the sea on The Little Mermaid - Ariel's Undersea Adventure, and Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! In the
Disneyland App, you can filter the list of attractions to those that do not have a height requirement, and feel free to ask the Cast Members at the attraction if your baby can comfortably sit on your lap if there is a tighter lap bar for the attraction vehicle.
For shows, sometimes the nighttime spectaculars were a bit too late in the evening for them, so we opted for the daytime parades and entertainment. You can check the
entertainment schedule prior to your trip to check for showtimes, some of our favorite options are the Atmosphere Entertainment whether that's the The Amazing Spider-Man! show in Avengers Campus, or catching the Disneyland Band perform down Main Street, U.S.A. I would definitely check the entertainment schedule for all of your options as your trip gets closer.
The weather in January can be chilly in the morning and evening, so I definitely recommend bringing layers of clothing to wear or remove throughout the day. I always had a light blanket and hat for our kids as well for those colder evenings when they were riding around in the stroller. The
Baby Care Center in each theme park will also be a great place to change a diaper or take a break if you need a quiet spot to relax during the day, they were such life savers when our kids were younger.
I really hope this information is helpful for you Cecilia! If I can help with any other questions before your trip, don't hesitate to
come back and ask. I'm wishing you and your family a magical first visit to the "Happiest Place on Earth!"
Have a magical day,
Melissa
