Hi Panel! I was wondering if you could give me an estimate of what we should allocate out of our budget for ADR tips. Traveling with: myself, husband, mother-in-law, 3-year old daughter and infant. ADR @ OHana, CM, Akershus, CP, and Rainforest Cafe.

    Hello, Megan!

    This is a great question!

There's a great way to guesstimate what you'll need to budget for tips while on the Dining Plan in Walt Disney World; just head over to allears.net, a great unofficial source of information on everything at Walt Disney World. Once there, hover over "Walt Disney World," then select "Dining" and you'll find the list of parks and resorts. From there, you can get to unofficial menus which include prices on them. The buffet costs are estimated based on day of hte week as well as season, so you might want to count on the higher end, just in case. For Rainforest Cafe, look through the menu to determine what you might like to order. We like to splurge when we're on the Dining Plan by ordering favorite items which would have otherwise been a bit too pricey for us.

I looked at the price of dinner at your buffet restaurants, so you will need to adjust these if, in fact, you are heading out for breakfast. Three adults and one child at Ohana, for example, could come to roughly $140, not including wine or alcoholic drinks.  (15-20% tip= $21-$28) Dinner at Chef Mickey's might cost you $161, so your tip could be $24-32. Akershus Royal Banquet Hall may total $153, so your tip may be $23-$31. Crystal Palace may total $154, so your tip will run $23-$31 as well. Thus, your tips for your buffet dinners may total $91-$122 on meals only, no alcohol included.

Over at Rainforest Cafe, you'll need to really look at that menu to see what you're likely to order and plan your tip allotment accordingly. That is a very varied menu; your server will be able to help you understand what you can order according to your Dining Plan. (If you're a chocolate lover, try the Chocolate Extinction. It is so very good!)

I hope this helps! Send more questions as you think of them; we love to help!
