Hi Panel! Just wondering if Animal Kingdom is really worth seeing? I have seen mixed reviews and with kids 4 and 6, I don't want to go to the park just for the awesome expedition everest, I want to make sure there is lots for us all to do. Help!!!!!!!!!

    Hi Rebecca,

I read your question and just had to answer it right away!  Animal Kingdom is too often underestimated and is actually my family's very favorite park at Disney. We love it specifically because it has so much to offer to all ages. My youngest 2 kids who have claimed it as their favorite since they were 3 and 5.

One of the things that my husband and I like most about it is that it has a different "feel" than the other three parks. The atmosphere is very different, and you don't feel the hustle and bustle that you do in the others. We always feel more relaxed there. Take the time to slow down and really immerse yourself. There are trees and vegetation everywhere, as well as little nooks to pause and see lizards, birds and more while you're walking along. Your children will absolutely love the Kilimanjaro Safari. It's  not to be missed. We also spend several hours walking the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail and the Maharajah Jungle Trek. These are both fabulous trails with the chance to watch gorillas, tigers, meerkats, bats, fish, birds, okapi, hippos and much more. You can also ride the Wildlife Express Train over to Rafiki's Planet Watch for all sorts of neat exhibits. Depending on their height, your children may be tall enough to ride Kali River Rapids with you, this is fun for the whole family. My kids have ridden with us since they were 4. As a side note, there are great monkeys near Kali that are fun to watch. You may want to rider swap on Expedition Everest, although daughter loved it when she was 6. The Festival of the Lion King and Finding Nemo - The Musical are both awesome shows. I recommend starting your day at Donald's Safari Breakfast. Donald, Daisy, Mickey and Goofy greet guests in their safari gear and the food is fantastic!

I hope this gives you a tiny glimpse into what Animal Kingdom has to offer! We spend at least a day and a half there on every trip.

    Have a wonderful vacation,
