Hi Moms Panel! Our under 2 week countdown is on!!!!!! We are staying at AOA and have florida friends who want to spend a day visiting with us. Are they allowed to come hang out with us by the pool and is there a fee they would have to pay? Thank you!

Hello, Kelly. Wow, your trip is just around the corner you must be so excited! As a native Floridian currently living in Indiana, I always try to coordinate Walt Disney World vacations and meet ups with family members that still live in Florida. They usually don't ever want to spend the day with us in the parks, so we try to find places to meet that won't require park admission. The Walt Disney World Resort Hotel pools are strictly for guests staying at the resort hotel, so unfortunately your friends will not be allowed to enjoy the pool with you. Never fear! There are so many fun things to do that you shouldn't have a problem finding something fun for everyone. I'll give you some ideas of things we have done in the past:

*Hang out at Downtown Disney all day- Downtown Disney has a huge assortment of shops, restaurants and entertainment options. The best part is that parking and admission are free for you and your friends! May I suggest taking everyone to enjoy Splitsville Luxury Lanes for a night of bowling fun? Or what about catching some live music at the House Of Blues?

*Check out some of the amazing Resort Hotel Dining Experiences- Did you know that you can schedule a Character Dining Experience outside of the parks? Ohana, 1900 Park Fare, Cape May Cafe, Chef Mickey's, and Mickey's Backyard BBQ are all located outside of the parks. Meet some of your favorite Disney Characters while enjoying a delicious meal. Don't forget your camera or autograph book!

*If you are interested in doing something water related, there are two water parks at Walt Disney World. Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon would be a great place to hang out on a hot day! The water parks do require tickets for admission.

If there is anything else that we can help you with please feel free to stop by. Have a magical Walt Disney World vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Sarah, Indiana

I am a recent graduate from Ball State University and mother to my 5-year-old son. We love all things Disney and when we aren’t watching Disney films or planning our next vacation, we love to go to touring Disney shows. I also love to cook, listen to music, read books, and paint. With my experience planning vacations and navigating the parks from a single parent’s perspective, I hope to be able to add a little “pixie dust” to your vacation! Learn More About Sarah
