    Hi Panel, I will be visiting Disney Dec. 17-23. I would like to know if the Lava Lounge is a part of Rainforest Cafe or is it a separate establishment. I would like to make a reservation, but the Lava Lounge does not register in the dining category.

    I'm glad you picked up on the fact that Lava Lounge is now open for business. Since the Rainforest Cafe is such a popular restaurant, fans like you and me are going to have an easier time snagging a table (along with a Sparkling Volcano brownie sundae, right!). 

    As for your question, the reason you're probably not seeing the Lava Lounge listed on the list of restaurants is that it's more of a bar/lounge area with some high-top tables that are first-come, first-served. So, no reservations are needed.

    While they have a bar menu in the Lava Lounge, you can also order from the adjacent Rainforest Cafe's full menu if you're looking for a full meal. (Rasta Pasta, anyone?)

    So, if you're on the hunt for a no-fuss meal, this is an awesome alternative if the line is super long for the main dining room at the Rainforest Cafe. However, if you want the full experience of the jungle, then I'd recommend snagging a reservation for the Rainforest Cafe and arriving early enough for a cocktail at the Lava Lounge.

    If you've seen any of my other posts on the Disney Parks Moms Panel, then you've probably learned that I'm a Disney shopaholic. That being said, the gift shop at the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney is an awesome spot to snag fun souvenirs. (They usually have smokin' deals on t-shirts!)
