Hi - this panel is so useful! On the dining plan is it possible to substitute the dessert (at table service meals) for anything? I do like dessert, but not at every meal! I have read that substitution is possible on counter service, is this also correct?

Hello Rachel.  Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

I enjoy using the Disney Dining Plan.  It's nice having all of our meals paid for ahead of time.  At this time, substitutions for the dessert is not allowed.  The good news is all of the desserts I've tried over the years have been delicious, so I know you'll enjoy them.  I do see you point that it can be a lot.  One suggestion would be to ask your server if they could box it up to go for you and enjoy it later on in the evening when you are less full.  At quick service meals, the dessert portion is much smaller so it's not so overwhelming.

I hope this helps!  If you have any other questions please come back and ask.  Enjoy!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
