Hi, Gayle! Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
As the mom of a kiddo on the autism spectrum, I can tell you from personal experience that the
Walt Disney World Resort does a wonderful job of making the magic accessible to everyone. Traveling with a child who has special needs can be a bit overwhelming at times, but the Walt Disney World Resort has services in place designed to keep your stress levels low and your pixie dust levels high. This is one reason why my family returns to the Most Magical Place on Earth yEAR after yEAR.
Although the Disney Parks Moms Panel does not have a specific subgroup consisting of parents of children with special needs, we do have several panelists who have personal experience utilizing Walt Disney World Resort's
Services for Guests with Disabilities. If you take a look at the
"Meet the Panel" section of the Disney Parks Moms Panel website, you can read about each panelist's background. If you have specific questions related to visiting the Walt Disney World Resort with someone who has special needs, please feel free to send your questions directly to me or any of our other amazing panelists who you feel might have some helpful insight for you. You can also simply submit your questions to the panel in general. We all work together to make sure someone who has personal experience with the topic of your question can help you out.
Gayle, you have chosen a wonderful time to plan a Walt Disney World Resort vacation. With the opening of
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge this fall, as well as many other
new and exciting happenings,
now more than ever, it's a great time to visit!
See ya real soon!
Samantha
