Hi moms panel! Trying to plan a trip for my family this year, but just found out i'm pregnant. so my ? is would it be best to go at 5m pregnant at the end of Feb / or with a 3mo baby in Sept? ( I also have a DD12 and DD5)

    Melissa,

What a great dilemma!!!  First of all, congratulations on the new addition!  What a happy time for your family!

I went to Walt Disney World when I was 8 months pregnant with my second child.  It was also in February.

I really did have a great time on that trip.  I have had two horrible pregnancies, suffering from a condition called "Hyperemesis gravidarum" both times. Each time I was bed-ridden with IV's and drug pumps, and lost over 40 pounds.  However, during the last month of both of my pregnancies, I finally felt well enough to get out and do things.  So, my husband and I made the decision to take our then 5 year old to WDW for one last trip where he would be the "only child" with Mom and Dad.  I am so glad we did it!

True, I didn't get to ride every ride, and I did take lots of breaks, just sitting and "people-watching", but it was so enjoyable!  I had a great time watching the joy on my son's face and taking it all in with him one more time before his baby brother was born.

If you have had a healthy pregnancy, and you get the "okay" from your doctor to travel, then I say go for it!  Make sure you pay attention to the rides that are marked "not safe" for pregnant women, and avoid those.  Don't take chances.  Drink plenty of fluids, eat healthfully, get plenty of rest, and get those feet up whenever you can!

I don't mean to scare you off from taking an infant to WDW.  I've done that, too, twice, and really enjoyed it both times!  But, my personal recommendation is to take this trip with your two daughters before the new baby comes, and enjoy!  Take lots of pictures and enjoy eating that Disney cuisine without any guilt!
