Hi Panel, I am traveling to WDW with my husband for our Anniversary in May. What are some Tips for using the magic bands if I am not staying on Disney property? How many days in advance should I get my FastPass?

    Hi Jamie,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us another question.

Like my friend Beth, I find MagicBands to be super useful, even if you aren’t staying in a Walt Disney World Resort hotel. You don’t have to fumble around looking for your park ticket when redeeming your FastPass+ reservations or for ensuring that your Disney PhotoPass pictures are properly linked to your My Disney Experience account. In fact, as an “off-property” Guest, the main things your MagicBand can’t do is open your hotel room door or charge your purchases to your Walt Disney World Resort account (because, you don’t have one unless you’re staying “on property”). Plus… They make for super cute souvenirs, especially if you visit a Retail MagicBand on Demand store in order to customize them for your anniversary!

Your FastPass+ selection window will open 30 days before your each day that you plan to visit a Walt Disney World Resort Theme Park. I would recommend making your selections as soon as possible, to make sure that you reserve your place in line for the most popular attractions, at times that work best with your schedule.

    Have a Magical Day,
