Hey there, Cathy! It's nice to chat with you again here on the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We're talkin' vittles at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground today. Mosey on over and I'll share what I know about rustling up some grub in the wilderness.
Technically, the only quick-service dining spot at Fort Wilderness is the Meadow Snack Bar at the Meadow Swimmin' Pool. It has the usual pool eats you might expect, including burgers, sandwiches and salads. Crockett's Tavern, next to Trail's End Restaurant in Pioneer Hall does serve some snacks, so you can grab pizza, wings or nachos to enjoy on the porch or at a nearby picnic table.
Speaking of Trail's End, visit their takeout counter near the main dining room and pick up some of that delicious fried chicken that people travel all the way to the Fort to get!
And still speaking of Trail's End, while it's considered a table-service location and reservations are recommended, we've had very good luck walking in here without a reservation, especially for breakfast. It's buffet service for breakfast and dinner, while you order from a menu at lunch.
If all else fails, you're just a boat ride away from some very good quick-service spots like Roaring Fork at Disney's Wilderness Lodge or the Contempo Cafe at Disney's Contemporary Resort.
I hope this whets your appetite for a taste of the wilderness, Cathy. Come on back and see us again if you have more questions, y'all!
Have a magical day,
Kathy K.
