Hi Panel, Staying at POR and renting a car. We have a child with special needs and wish to avoid the resort bus.I've read it's better to take the resort bus to the MK.I'm wondering about parking at Epcot and taking monorail to MK. Would that make sense?

    Hi Heidi!

My family and I actually enjoy renting a car and driving to the parks, too, and I know what you're referring to when they say it's better to take the resort bus to Magic Kingdom.  This is because for the Magic Kingdom, you actually park at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC), and then hop on a monorail to the park. The other three parks have parking lots directly at the entrance.

I actually think you would be better off parking at the TTC and taking that monorail.  If you park at Epcot, you would still have to take the Epcot monorail to the TTC and then switch to the Magic Kingdom monorail. That would be an additional step for you that isn't necessary.

I hope this helps!  Please let me know if you have any other questions as you prepare for your trip.
