Hi Moms Panel! I have a reservation for WDW for August 7 for myself and my 12yo daughter, staying at Caribbean Beach with park hopper tickets and the dining plan. I heard about the new room only discount, would I be better off using that discount?

    Hi Sheila!

Aren't all of these discounts and promotions a little confusing???  Of course, I'm not complaining - I'll take any discount that I can get my hands on!   The great news is that you can use a Room Only discount, even if you have booked a package.  However, only one promotion or discount may be used at a time.

Honestly, each case is different when it comes to which discount is better financially.  Generally, the free dining promotion is best when you are staing at a Value or Moderate Resort.  On the other hand, the room only discount tends to be a better value when staying at the Deluxe Resorts.

I recommend calling 1-407-WDISNEY and having the Cast Member look at both options.  Disney doesn't always give you the best price available, unless you know what to ask for!  Be sure to mention that you want to compare what your package would cost using the Free Dining promo (assuming that is what you currently have) and with the Room Only discount.  As long as you are 45 days away from your vacation, they will drop your price with absolutely no fees!

I wish you the best of luck!
