Hi panel! We will be renting a car and would like to head straight to Epcot from MCO. We will be staying onsite at POP. So my question is, will we need to check in at POP first to be sure are magic bands have all our info or we will be good to go?

    Welcome Back, Ashley!

Walt Disney famously said that his parks 'will never be done growing as long as there is imagination left in the world.' While I'm sure he was talking about future attractions and storylines, I know this is definitely the case with Disney's Parks and their incorporation of new technology. Some of the tech is so new, in fact, that you'll be experiencing new things before some of us panelists do!

I visited Walt Disney World Resort with my family in March and then went with a group of mom friends + our babies in May. The entire Resort Hotel Parking system changed in those short 7 weeks! In the past, guests did need to swing by their Disney Resort Hotel to check-in and get their parking validation info before they could start having fun. But now, thanks to Disney's Online Resort Hotel Check-In option + your MagicBands, everything is simplified together. Those who drive down or rent a car who checked-in online should be able to go directly to any park the moment they drive under the world's happiest welcome sign and start their Disney Vacation immediately. In the past the Theme Park parking lot Cast Members would look for your parking validation sign from check in on your car window; now they scan your MagicBand to confirm your Disney Resort Hotel reservation. So you should be good to go!

Pro Tip: just to be on the safe side of technology, I would either print or take a screenshot of your Resort Hotel Confirmation email that includes your reservation information. This way should there be a problem, the reservation info will be able to get you in to the Epcot parking lot free of charge, and then the Epcot Guest Relations team will be able to handle the actual issues.

I hope this helped, Ashley, and We'll See You Real Soon!
