    Hi Panel! I have been reading about the Projected Mermaids added to the Pirates of the Caribbean Ride. This is our Son's absolutely favorite ride on all the property. Just curious ... are the Mermaids at all scary? Thanks!

    Hi there, Amy!

    The new mermaids on the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction at Magic Kingdom are modeled after the dark, evil mermaids from the On Stranger Tides film.

    They are somewhat creepy, but they are not always easy to spot, and the detail might not be sufficiently prevalent to be upsetting to you your little one.

    There are several Guest videos of the new effect available online; viewing one of these videos might give you a better idea of how the mermaids look, and if they are too scary for your son.
