Hi Panel! Question about park hours. We visited the first week of January last year and MK was typically open until 1 or 2am most nights. We are visiting the same week again and I was wondering if those hours are typical of that time of year? THX!

    Hi Irene!

The weeks surrounding Christmas and New Years are some of the busiest weeks at Walt Disney World and will typically have longer hours to help make up for the larger crowds.  First, I have to ask the question are you visiting the first full week of January or will you be there for the week that begins January?  It seems that this year the hours for Magic Kingdom will be open later for New Year's Eve and the day just before, but will most likely be closing at 10 pm on most nights thereafter.  The first full week of January will see the Magic Kingdom closing earlier by closing around 8 pm on most nights. Remember these hours area always subject to change and Extra Magic Hours will allow the parks to be open much later than normal operating hours.

Be sure to check Walt Disney World's Park Hours & Calendar page for more information on opening and closing times for the parks. These hours will be available approximately 180 days prior which is helpful for booking dining reservations and activities.

I hope this helps and please let me know if you have anymore questions!

    Happy Planning!
