Hi Panel! We're going to Pirates and Pals on Dec 20. Any advice on the temperature at that time of year? Also, about how long to get from Beach Club to the Contemporary and where to park? We plan on driving over. Thanks so much for all your help!

    Ahoy there Eveleen!

You are going to love the Pirates & Pals Fireworks Voyage! It offers an incredible view of the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom.

The average high temperature in December is typically in the low 70s and lows are usually in the low 50s. Keep in mind, those are averages and its not completely unheard of for temperatures to go higher or lower. I am cold natured so I always take a heavier coat and dress in layers and when the sun goes down, I'm usually pretty happy I did.  A couple of days before your trip, go to www.weather.com and look at the 10 day forecast.

Keep in mind that it is likely to be a little cooler on the water for Pirates & Pals and can sometimes be a little breezy. You're also on the water for about an hour so it is likely that the temperature may drop a little while you're on the water.  In addition to a heavier coat, you may want to make sure you bring a scarf, cap or earmuffs to keep your head warm. I'd also throw my gloves in too - just in case.

The trip from Beach Club to the Contemporary Resort is only 10 - 15 minutes.  You should also allow yourself another 10 - 15 minutes to get from the parking lot to the land portion of Pirates & Pals.  You will be able to park at the Contemporary. Just tell the security guard at the gate that you're there for the Pirates & Pals Fireworks Voyage. Be sure that the person listed on the reservation brings a photo ID as the security guard will likely ask for it. Self-parking is available at no charge.

Wishing you many magical memories :-) Allison
