Hi, panel! I'm planning a trip and we have a large group of 20 people. We were planning on staying at Disney's Bay Lake Tower. I just wanted to know if getting a five 2 bedroom suites or three 3 bedroom grand villa.

    Hi Hetal,

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.  Traveling with a large group to Walt Disney World can be so much fun!  Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort is a great choice for traveling with a large party.  The location, within walking distance of Magic Kingdom Park, is wonderful!

How you break up your party into villas will probably depend on the smaller units traveling within that group of 20.  For instance, are you traveling with five families of four members each, or is it two families of ten members each?  This might make a difference in how you will book villas.

At Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort, a Deluxe Studio sleeps four guests, a one-bedroom villa sleeps five guests, a two-bedroom villa sleeps nine guests, and at three-bedroom grand villa sleeps 12 guests.  Remember also that you can have one guest under three years old in any room and they do not count against the maximum number of guests.  So, for example, a family of five can stay in a deluxe studio if one of the guests is under three years old.

Given these numbers, you traveling party could in fact fit into one three-bedroom grand villa and one two-bedroom villa.  This could work for you, or you might want to go with a different combination based on the smaller traveling units within your party.  I suggest that you visit the website for Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort.  Select the tab for "Room Rates," which will show you the rates and availability for rooms, as well as the number and type of beds in each.

I hope that this information is helpful for you, Hetal.  Have a great time planning your vacation, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
