Hello Mom's Panel. I'm heading down to DW on 2/1/15 with my partner & I'm debating about staying at a Disney resort. If we get magicbands, can we connect a debit card to them for use in the parks or does it only work with a credit card? Thank you.

    Hi Cody,

It's so great to see you here on the Moms Panel. We appreciate your questions, and look forward to helping you with your Walt Disney World vacation planning.

The new MyMagic+ system and MagicBands are such a great amenity for guests of Walt Disney World Resort Hotels. It's also pretty amazing that day guests of the theme parks can now purchase their own MagicBands to use during their magical experiences! Walt Disney World sure knows how to take great care of us.

The credit or debit card that you use to make your Walt Disney World reservations will be the card connected to your MagicBands throughout your vacation. You have the option of either using that card, or adding another debit or credit card, to your My Disney Experience account. During our last Walt Disney World vacation, we successfully used our debit card to make purchases in the parks via our MagicBands. You should have no issues doing the same.

I hope this answers your question, Cody. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask at any time. I'm always here to help.

    Have a fantastical Disney day!
