This panel has been so helpful in planning our vacation! We are planning on celebrating our daughter's 6th b-day in disney. Where would be the best restaurant? I plan to order a cake, but do any do anything extra special, like decorate the table?

    Hi Tamara,

Happy birthday to your daughter!  In deciding where to celebrate, I would consider her interests and favorite Disney Characters.  Also, if you have your heart set on a particular location, ensure that you make Advanced Dining Reservations by calling 407-939-3463 up to 90 days in advance.  Does she like Mickey and his pals?  Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort is a great spot to celebrate a birthday.  When you make your reservations (and again when you check in with the podium) tell them it's your daughter's birthday.  Part of the "show" at dinner is a special celebration song for all guests celebrating a special event.  You can also pre-order a cake here or at other restaurants when you reserve your table.

Is your little girl more of a princess-fan?  1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian and Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in the Norway Pavilion at Epcot offer lovely character dining experiences.  Other fun non-character spots include the Sci-Fi Dine in Theater at Hollywood Studios and the Rainforest Cafe at either Animal Kingdom or Downtown Disney (Rainforest is not owned by Disney and, therefore, not on the Dining Plan.)

Regarding "decorations", you can order a "pop-up" decorative centerpiece for your little girl, get a "goody" bag or choose from a number of other birthday options by speaking to the dining agent when you make your dinner reservations.

In addition to the dining enhancements I discussed above, there are a huge selection of new, "in-room celebrations" you can arrange for your daughter by visiting or calling 407-827-3505.  I was recently surprised by Mickey and his friends in my room for my birthday, and definitely felt like I was six!
