The Mom's Panel has been so helpful! We are planning our 2nd trip: husband & 2 boys, 13 & 8. Stayed at Pop 1st time. Would like to hear more about PO, CBR and Coronado, especially re. food courts, pools/waterslides and Disney transportation to park

My family has stayed at each of the moderate resorts.

Port Orleans French Quarter: a small resort with a pool slide geared to young children. Your boys would likely find it lame. Food court doesn't seem as relaxing as the other moderate resorts. Bus transportation is more efficient. Boat to Downtown Disney is convenient and fun.

Port Orleans Riverside: The food court has good meal options and a pleasant seating area. We just stayed at this resort last week and the rooms are in need of a renovation. New bedding, TVs, etc. would update the rooms. The pool area has a rustic theme that your boys would enjoy,  however the slide is fairly basic with just two curves (according to my son). Transportation to the parks is via bus. We experienced crowded buses. The riverboat to Downtown Disney is delightful, except on cold evenings. Overall, a well-themed resort but rooms need updating.

Caribbean Beach Resort: The food court has quiet seating areas and good meal options. The pirate themed pool is fun for your boys but the pool area lacks shade. Transportation is via bus. My son loves the pirate themed rooms.

Coronado Springs: This resort has queen beds and updated rooms. The pool area is Mayan themed complete with a pyramid. My 11 year old son thinks it has the best slide in this resort category. Disney transportation is via bus. Food Court has nice selections and drinks are delivered by a waitress so it seems more sophisticated.

From my experience, Port Orleans French Quarter and Coronado Springs had the most efficient bus schedules. We usually tour in the off-season, though.

Coronado is a great resort, however it does have a convention center so there will be more business people walking around. For this reason, I think the buses, pool, etc. are less crowded and the amenities much more sophisticated.
