Hello moms panel. I've just heard that if needed, there is a thing called " in room medical services". Can you please explain this to me? We have been to Walt Disney world and a couple times we had a child get. Thanks!

Hi Jolene! It never seems to fail that when you are on a vacation someone in the family will get sick. It is always best to be prepared for whatever might come your way so the vacation can continue on with lots of magic.

There are several walk in Medical Clinics located close to Walt Disney World and the resorts. If you have your own transportation these can be the fastest and easiest way to get medical assistance. You can also book a time on line so your waits are minimal.

However, when you have a child that is sick the best place to keep that child is in the comfort of a bed and a room where they can watch tv or nap and take nourishment if possible. I have used the in room service called Docs On Call in the past and it was wonderful. Every resort on property will have the information for the in room medical care service so if you find you need help please contact the resort front desk at any time of day or night.

The in room service was fabulous. My daughter had strep and we kept her in the room and had to only wait about an hour for a doctor to arrive at the room. He did his examination and made a preliminary diagnosis that it was indeed strep and didn't feel anymore medical care was needed at that time. He carried enough prescription to get her started and then ordered the full dosage from a local pharmacy that delivers right to the resort. It was absolutely the easiest and most painless way to get her assistance and although it likely cost more I didn't' care. She was up and about in less then 24 hours and once again enjoying her Disney vacation!
