Mom and Daughter at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort Room

    Moms panel is more fun than Pintrest! My son and I are taking our first "w/o dad" trip to WDW in Oct '13 and we're stay at All Star Movies....Wondering if we just want to relax and ride around on the monorails for fun, what's our best plan? Tha

    Hi, Christina!

    What a treat to have some "mom and son" time at Walt Disney World!  I love that you want to ride the monorails.  When my son was younger, we would sometimes spend the good part of a day zooming around property!

    For a day of monorail fun, take the bus from All-Star to the Magic Kingdom.  From here, hop on the Resort Monorail line.  This monorail will stop at the Contemporary, Polynesian, and the Grand Floridian.  Feel free to hop off at any of these resorts to shop, grab, a bite to eat, or even relax on one of the beaches. (Your only restriction will be the pools, those are for the exclusive use of that resort's guests.)

    After a loop or two, exit at the Transportation and Ticket Center (it is the stop after the Contemporary).  Switch to the Epcot Monorail Line.  This monorail will take you all the way to Epcot!  You can just stay on the monorail for a round trip ride back to the TTC where you can get back on the Resort Monorail Line, or hop on a bus at Epcot back to your home resort. 

    Disney transportation is so much fun, and what a thrill it is to be on the monorails!   If you need any other ideas of fun activities to do with your son, just let me know.  I'd be happy to plan a very special vacation for you.   Enjoy!
