Francisco from HI Asked Note: This answer was provided prior to the change to planDisney and may still contain references to Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Hi Mom´s Panel, My family and I sadly will not be staying at a Orlando Disney Resort during new years eve, but I was wondering if we can buy park tickets 2 days before from a Disney Resort to start making fastpass reservations for our kids.

Hello Francisco! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Whether you stay on property at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel or off-property at a Disney-area resort, purchasing Theme Park Admission and making FastPass+ Selections can be done and linked to your My Disney Experience well before you arrive.
In your case, you can definitely purchase Theme Park Admission 2 days and make FastPass+ Selections on My Disney Experience. However, Guests staying off-property are able to make FastPass+ Selections up to 30 days in advance of a visit with purchased and link Theme Park Admission.
Regardless, making FastPass+ Selections before you arrive at a Theme Park is done through My Disney Experience.
I recommend that you purchase, link and make your FastPass+ Selections at the 30-day mark as FastPass+ for many attractions are limited and you will have a better chance of obtaining Passes for the attractions you desire if you book sooner rather than later.
    Happy FastPass-ing!
