Hi Panel! SO Excited! Booked for 12/2/12 to 12/7/12 at PORS!! Family of 5, 2 adults, DD11, Dniece12, Dnephew14...We are in preferred room but are those also available in the Princess Room style or are those the smaller rooms? Merry Christmas to you all!

    Hi Crystal!

Preferred rooms are really those rooms located close to the main activities of a resort, such as the main dining area, lobby, or pool.  At Port Orleans Riverside, preferred rooms are located closest to the main building which houses the lobby, a gift shop, a Table Service restaurant, a Quick Service restaurant, and an arcade.  Preferred rooms at Port Orleans Riverside are in both the Alligator Bayou and Magnolia Bend sections of the resort.

The new Royal Guest Rooms at Port Orleans Riverside are specially themed rooms.  To get one of these rooms, you have to specifically request it and it does cost more (just like a preferred room does).  The rooms look spectacular from the concept art I have seen.  I was told they will be located in the Oak Manor and Parterre Place buildings in the Magnolia Bend section of the resort.

If you would like a Royal Guest Room, I suggest calling back Disney or your travel agent and making that change.  I hope this helps.  Write back if you have any more questions!
