Hello Moms panel! We are coming to WDW 11/10-11/17 and staying at AOA. I would love to see Disney Boardwalk in the evening. Can my family get transportation there, or would it be easier to take our car? Thanks so much for your help. You are awesome:)

    Hi Carrie,

Thank you for the kind words! We love helping guests navigate the parks. The short answer is yes, driving to and from the Disney resort hotels is generally easier than utilizing Disney transportation. There are no direct bus routes from Disney's Art of Animation to the other resort hotels.

Because our family usually does not rent a car, I'm quite familiar with the routes via bus, boat or monorail.  Keep in mind you'll need to add an extra leg of your trip to a Park or Downtown Disney first before arriving at your destination. For example, the easiest method (using Disney transportation) from AoA is to travel to Disney's Hollywood Studios, then either walk (about 15 minutes) or take a boat over to the BoardWalk. Your trip home will depend on how late you stay out. Buses will continue to run up to an hour after the parks close. Once you miss that window, you can still utilize the buses that run from BoardWalk to Downtown Disney (these buses run into the wee hours of the morning - usually 2:00 a.m.) but then you'll need to wait for your Art of Animation bus at the Downtown Disney bus stop.

As you can see, driving allows you to eliminate that extra leg of the trip. I hope my answer helped, Carrie, and please visit me again with any other questions.

    Have a magical vacation!
