Hi panel- coming to WDW in Aug. what are your favorite table service or buffet dining spots for lunch and dinner? Anything with a view of fireworks? MK, HS, Epcot. Can be character dining. Already thinking of BoG, San Angel, Sci Fi. 2nd trip & can't w

    Ivy:

In January, I enjoyed Narcoossee's and can't believe it took me so long to dine there! The meal was delicious, the service attentive, and the view of Magic Kingdom's Wishes fireworks was a highlight of the evening. Best of all, our server encouraged us to see the fireworks from the patio. We weren't rushed, returned to our seats and finished our next course for one of the best evenings I can remember.

Like Narcoossee's I find my favorite restaurants outside of the theme parks. The quality of the food seems better, the noise less bothersome and the value of most meals more in line with the price. Other resort table dining favorites for my family include Ohana and its yummy food that never ends; hidden-gem Captain's Grille for its breakfast buffet including made-to-order omelets (just ask your server) along with selections like smoked salmon, numerous pastries and breakfast meats, and Mickey waffles;  California Grill atop the Contemporary at sunset for an incredible view to accompany the incredible menu and the resort's Chef Mickey's scores high for character interaction.

In the parks, I find myself looking for experiences as well as respites from the hustle of the crowds. The Plaza Restaurant in Magic Kingdom offers some of the biggest desserts-for-two (or three or four) you'll find. You can flip a coin in Epcot and not miss: from Biergarten with its Oktoberfest show to the princesses in Akershus, Coral Reef's giant aquarium wall to fun interaction of Tokyo Dining, it's difficult to pick a favorite. Sci Fi at Disney's Hollywood Studios provides a solid value if you're not on the dining plan along with Mama Melrose's. My favorite spot in Animal Kingdom is counter service from Flame Tree barbecue: I can grab a table behind it near the water under the trees and be transported into another land.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
