Hi moms panel. I will be coming to Walt Disney world in two weeks time. I have never been at this time of year before. What are the crowds like and what is the weather like. Predictions show lots of thunder and rain

    Hi Victoria,

Thanks for visiting us with your question!

You likely are going to find near peak crowds up until mid- to late August as families try to squeeze in a few more Disney days before schools reopen in late August and early September.

You can still have a great time, but you may need to employ some of our favorite Moms Panel tips (make dining reservations, use FastPass whenever you can, arrive early, stay late) in order to avoid long waits and get in the maximum amount of fun with the least amount of hassle.

The weather here in Florida doesn't vary much from June through September -- highs in the low 90s, lows in the lower 70s with a good chance for an afternoon or evening thundershower.

We always come prepared for both the heat and the rain and don't let either get in our way. The good news is that the showers tend to be short-lived.

Make sure you have sunscreen, a hat and keep hydrated. I like to bring a water bottle with me and refill it often from the fountains or by asking for a free glass of iced water at any counter service location. Unless there is lightning in the area, my family just dons our ponchos and keeps going. We find that the rain often thins the crowds, at least briefly, and gives us a chance to get in an extra show or ride.

Here's hoping you find that visiting at a different time of year offers new, memorable experiences for you and your family. Please let me know if I can answer any last-minute questions. Your trip is so close now. Enjoy!
