Hello Panel, We are coming again in August 2017 and plan on going to the water parks. Can you tell me which days generally have the larger crowds and which days are recommended? Thank you

    Hi Ethel!

We love to spend the summer cooling off at the Walt Disney World water parks!  The summer months are a busy time at Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach since the weather is perfect for splashing in the sun.  I have found that going on a week day is less busy than a weekend because locals (like me) pop over on the weekend to play.  As far as which day specifically?  Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday is best.  You'll miss the Guests who plan on spending a long weekend at Disney.

Here are some tips to make the most of your water park day:
    • Arrive early - Plan to be there when the park opens.  Claim some chairs for your family and head off to play.
    • Experience the larger slides first.  The lines for the more popular attractions will get longer as the day goes on and then taper off at the end of the day so you can ride them again with shorter lines later on in the day.
    • Use the lazy river as transportation.  Grab a tube and float your way to your next destination.  It's a great way to stay cool throughout the day and have fun while doing it!
    • Use a waterproof money case or load a wristband gift card (available in the gift shops) for food and beverage purchases.  This way you won't need to go back and forth to a locker or to your chair to get money or put it away.
    • Try the donuts!  They're so good, they have their own page on the Walt Disney World website.  These are available at both water parks.  (You'll thank me later)
    Have a magical day!
