Hi Panel. What are the chances Disney will improve the bus system at AKL in 2011? Most reviews list this as a frequent complaint i.e., picks up Kidani 1st, then no room left for Jambo. U r so helpful. Thanks.

    Hi Patricia:

Disney World is always looking to improve service for its guests and is always monitoring the bus and transportation systems and schedules. I can only speak based on my personal experience, but for me, rumors of any so-called bus issues at Animal Kingdom Lodge are greatly exaggerated. Personally, I've never had to wait for the next bus from Jambo House because the previous bus had filled up at Kidani Village. I'm not saying that such overcrowding has never occurred, but I've never experienced it before.

I love the Animal Kingdom Lodge. So much so, that my family chose it to be our "home" resort when we joined the Disney Vacation Club. While I'm partial to the benefits and amenities of Animal Kingdom Lodge, such as the savanna views, the fine dining, and the unique kid and family activities, the resort is sliiiightly further away from three of the four parks than many other Disney properties. That being said, for me, the benefits of the Animal Kingdom Lodge outweigh the extra minutes we may spend on the bus traveling to some of the parks. Also, even at the other Disney Resorts, you'll need to factor in some commuting time for at least a couple of parks if you intend to visit all four major Disney World theme parks. Keep in mind that travel times to and from the parks vary depending on traffic, the time of day, and any unforeseen circumstances.

    Enjoy your vacation.
