Hi Margaret,
I have to say, the Animal Kingdom is one of our favorites, so for us it is a must see.
The rides are amazing and really meets the needs to all ages from the Dumbo-like Triceratops Spin to the adventure of traveling back in time to explore the time of dinosaurs on Dinosaur to the newest ride, Expedition Everest: our sons' favorite WDW ride. To describe it as a roller coaster doesn't do it justice since it does so much more than that and still manages to weave a story into the ride as guests visit "Mt. Everest." It also has the most incredible audio-animatronic in all of WDW.
In contrast, the chance to view all the animals on the Kilimanjaro Safari truly seems as if we are exploring the beauty of Africa. And that it doesn't stop there. The Maharajah Jungle Trek, Flights of Wonder, and Pangani Forest Exploration Trail are just a few of the opportunities to enjoy and learn about animals in settings are so different from typical zoo experiences.
I also can't leave out the near-Broadway like production of the Festival of the Lion King show as well as the new Finding Nemo musical for a chance to get out of the sun, relax, and soak in the wonder of these shows.
And finally, my sons also love the huge play area called The Boneyard with its multi-level play area and huge dinosaur dig. They get a little restless during the trip, so they can run and climb to their heart's content while Mom and Dad have a chance to take and break and enjoy some adult conversation!
