Hi Moms, This panel is AWESOME. We'll be on the Disney Dining Plan, with one table service meal per day. I know that the TSM includes on entree. At restaurants my kids often prefer to order an appetizer instead of an entree. Is this allowed on the DDP

    Hi Mary,

On the regular Dining Plan you will have one Table Service credit, one Snack credit and one Quick Service credit per person/per day.  Unfortunately, no substitutions such as an appetizer for an entree, or a dessert instead of a drink for example can be made.  They are pretty strict when it comes to no substitutions but the only one that is accepted, would be trading in a Table Service credit for a Quick Service meal (this is allowed, but not a very worthwhile trade if you ask my opinion).

The only other way to get an appetizer would be to pay separately for it, or you could get the Deluxe Dining Plan which would include for each adult or child Table Service meal, an appetizer (with lunch or dinner) as well as a dessert and an entree.  I know this is probably not what you are looking for as this would be much more food to eat than what you have (you would get 3 meals and 2 snacks per day for each person) as well as a resort refillable mug per person to use during your stay at a WDW Resort but I thought I would mention this option just in case you decided to change your mind on the plan you had.  Good luck and have a great trip!

    Best wishes,
