I will be going on the Panama Canal cruise. My daughter and my husbands birthday will be during the cruise. In gifts&amenities you can buy a cake and banner, is this necessary for them each to get a cake on their birthdays? Just trying to save $! LOL

    Hi Jessica,

Welcome to the Moms Panel, and I am green with envy over your upcoming voyage!  I've seen plenty of photos and read enough trip reports to know that a Panama Canal cruise is pretty spectacular!

I suggest that you call the cruise line and have them notate the birthdays on your reservation.  Once this has been done, you will more than likely be approached by the head server once on board to confirm the celebrations during your voyage.  They would love to sing happy birthday during dinner and bring out a special birthday dessert.  Typically these are personal sized, so if you are looking for something a bit more substantial for all of you to share you should consider purchasing one of the celebration packages.  Personally I've seen a few of the celebrations - and they may be personal sized but they certainly are special (so I don't think it's necessary to order anything additional).

    Hope this helps!
