Welcome to planDisney Peggy, thank you for stopping by with your question! It sounds like you’re getting ready for an exciting visit to
Walt Disney World Resort! With all the ways technology can make your visit easier, especially using your iPhone, I’d love to help you figure out what works best for you and your plans.
To use your Apple Watch at Disney World like a
MagicBand+, you first need to set up
Disney’s MagicMobile service. Start by installing the
My Disney Experience app on your iPhone and linking your park tickets or resort reservation within the app. From there, open the app, tap the menu, and under Account, select Set Up MagicMobile Entry. You can then create a digital pass and add it directly to your Apple Wallet, which will sync automatically with your Apple Watch.
Once set up, you can simply tap your Apple Watch at park entrances,
Lightning Lane queues, and other touchpoints for entry and access, just like you would with a MagicBand+. Apple’s Express Mode is usually enabled by default, so you don’t have to unlock your watch or open any app when scanning. You can also use your Apple Watch to make purchases via Apple Pay throughout the parks.
Keep in mind that while the Apple Watch can handle most MagicBand+ functions, unlocking your Disney Resort hotel room door still requires the My Disney Experience app on your iPhone. Also, some interactive features unique to MagicBand+, like color-changing lights, won’t work on the watch.
I hope you find this information helpful as you prepare for an exciting visit to Walt Disney World Resort, Peggy! Thank you again for visiting planDisney. Have a magical day!
