Hello, John! I'm so glad you've stopped by planDisney with your question.
John, I have some good news for you. You are doing everything absolutely right. At this time, even when you have the
park hopper option added to your ticket, you are only able to make
park pass reservations for one park per day. Since the return of park hopping at the beginning of the year, some new rules and regulations have been put into place. To park hop at this time, you will need to make a park pass reservation for the first park you'd like to visit each day. You'll need to scan in and visit the park with the park pass reservation first before continuing on to other parks. You don't have to spend a lot of time there, but you do need to enter the park to sort of "activate" your park hopper option each day. Right now, park hopping hours start at 2:00 p.m. each day and last until each park closes. You do not need to make additional park pass reservations throughout the day. When it is 2:00 p.m. or after, you can simply show up and enter the next theme park of your choosing. To make park hopping a little bit easier for Guests, complimentary park-to-park bus transportation is currently being offered. Around 2:00 p.m or when you are ready to park hop, you'll head over to the bus transportation area outside of each theme park and look for the bus stop marked for your next destination. There will be a Cast Member working that area and he or she will need to verify that you do, indeed, have the park hopper option added to your ticket. This is just a quick scan of your MagicBand or ticket card and then you'll be able to board the bus and be whisked off to your next destination. I should mention that park hopping is subject to capacity limitations at this time. However, I've been
park hopping since its return, a little over 3 months now, and have not run into this issue at all.
Park hopping is actually my favorite way to spend a day at Disney and I am so glad it's back, even with some of the current restrictions. I love spending the early mornings at one of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks enjoying some of my favorite attractions before the lines tend to fill up. Then around lunchtime, when I find the parks are their busiest, I like to head back to the Walt Disney World Resort Hotel that I am staying at to enjoy some fun in the sun at the pool. Then after I've had my fill of the Florida sun, I usually head over to Epcot to enjoy snacks and drinks around The World Showcase for dinner. It's a perfect way to spend a Disney day.
John, I think you will really enjoy park hopping during your next vacation as well. If you have any other questions before your trip, please feel free to come back and
ask me. I'm here to help.
Have fun!
