Hello there, Rivital, and welcome aboard planDisney! I'm so glad you sailed my way with your question!
Ah, looks like someone had the great idea to make a placeholder reservation on their last cruise...now that's a planDrew-approved approach if I ever heard one! I can't remember the last time my family didn't reserve a placeholder when aboard one of the
Disney Cruise Line ships. It's such a convenient way to keep the magic alive, especially when the sadness of returning to port sets in! Nothing like the excitement of another sailing to put the wind back in your sails!
Until you call to convert your placeholder reservation to a new itinerary, you won't see your reservation under the "My Reservations" section of the website. This is because placeholders "live" in a different system than completed bookings, but not to worry, it's still there! To convert your placeholder, all you have to do is
call a crew member directly with the itinerary you would like to choose, and faster than you can say "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious," you'll be counting down the days until your next cruise on the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app!
Unless you happen to know offhand what itinerary you'd like to select, I always suggest using the
find a cruise tool on the Disney Cruise Line website to make 100% sure of the latest dates available for booking! After all, that's why you put a placeholder down instead of booking while onboard, right?
Now, I will say that due to the recent upgrade to the reservation system, hold times when calling Disney Cruise Line crew members have been quite long, so be aware you may feel a bit like Maui on his island counting down the minutes until you can be helped. Rest assured, the crew members are doing their best to ensure each Guest is helped!
Well Revital, I hope that helps you set a course for your latest adventure! Thank you so much for your question, and if you come up with any others as your plans crest over the horizon, you know where to find me here at planDisney!
Until then, may your anchor be tight and your compass true!
Andrew
