I paid for my Disney resort for our family vacation and there are no more reservations for the park that I am needing to get with the rest of my family. What do I do? Do I cancel my vacation?

Hi Olympia, and welcome to planDisney!

I see that you have a Walt Disney World Resort vacation planned soon. I can tell you from experience that the memories you will make with your loved ones will be plentiful that time of year.

It can be disappointing when you do not get the theme park reservations you desire, but possible alternatives may be available. I took the liberty of reviewing the theme park availability calendar. For your timeframe, the theme parks are available, but Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios are the two that are pretty popular (depending on the day).

Personally, I do not feel that canceling the reservation is an option unless that is what you desire. However, I have a suggestion that is contingent upon whether or not you have the Park Hopper Option purchased with your tickets and if the theme park in question is at capacity. Perhaps your family can shift some of their plans at the theme park to later in the day (After 2:00 PM). Of course, they should keep their reservations, but they could plan a big bulk of activities after 2:00 PM so that you will have time to join them. You will need to make a theme park reservation at one of the open theme parks, enjoy that park early in the day, then, right before 2:00 PM, hop over to the theme park in question. Again, if the park is not at capacity, you can hop and join the rest of your family. Another option would be to continue checking availability each day as an opening could occur, and you can make the reservation to join the rest of the family. I am sending lots of pixie dust your way, so everything works out.

Please return should you have additional questions prior to your arrival; we would love o help.

    Have a magical experience!
