Hello there, Darren, and welcome to planDisney!
You are correct! You need both
theme park tickets and
theme park reservations to enter the park. It sounds like you're all set with your tickets, so let's walk through the reservation process.
In general, your theme park reservation will determine which park you visit for each day of your trip. If you purchased the
Park Hopper option for your tickets, then you'll be able to switch to the other park starting at 11:00 AM.
First, if you have flexibility in the two days you'll be visiting, you can check the
Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar to see which parks are available for reservations. I'm not sure when you're visiting but as of the time I'm answering your question, the reservation availability looks great through mid-August with the exception of this week and a couple of days in early May.
Second, you can visit the
Theme Park Reservations page (make sure you're logged in to your Disneyland.com account) and select the blue "Make Park Reservation" button. On the next page, you'll click "Book Theme Park Reservation" and it will walk you through the process of creating your party and then making your theme park selection for each day of your trip.
One additional item you might consider is making
dining reservations! You can start doing this 60 days prior to your visit. These reservations typically get booked up quickly, so don't worry if you don't see any available for your trip. When you arrive for your trip, you can still attempt to join the
Walk-up list or potentially even utilize
Mobile Food and Beverage Ordering, depending on the location.
Thank you again for your question, Darren! Make sure to come back and see us here at planDisney with any follow-up questions you think of. We'd love to help!
Have a Magical Day,
Greg
