Do you have packing tips for 5-day Bahama cruise for 2 50-year-olds with 19 years old daughter

    Ahoy there, Jan!

Welcome aboard planDisney! A 5-night Bahamian cruise with your crew sounds like a practically perfect getaway—and planning what to pack is part of the fun! My wife and I recently cruised with our pre-teens, so I’m happy to share some tips that worked well for us and might just help you set sail with a little extra magic in your suitcase.

Let’s start with the basics. For the beautiful Bahamian sunshine, think lightweight and breathable. We like to pack a couple of swimsuits (it’s never fun putting on a wet one!), cover-ups, sunglasses, a wide-brimmed hat or visor, and flip-flops or water shoes for days at the pool or beach. And don’t forget reef-safe sunscreen—you’ll want to protect that vacation glow!

Now let’s talk themed nights—because every Disney cruise needs a little extra pixie dust (and maybe a pirate or two)! On your 5-night Bahamian itinerary, Pirate Night is currently scheduled for Day 3, right after your day of sun and sand at Castaway Cay. Be sure to pack your finest swashbuckling gear—bandanas, eye patches, pirate tees, or go full Captain Hook if the mood strikes. The whole ship gets into the spirit with pirate-themed menus, character costumes, and a deck party that ends with fireworks at sea! Then, the next night, Day 4 (Lookout Cay) is your optional “dress-up” night, the perfect opportunity to don your dapper best for a more elegant evening. Whether you go all-out with a dress or jacket or keep it classy-casual, it’s a great time to snap a family photo with a touch of Disney sparkle.

Here are a few extra things I always toss in my suitcase:

    • A refillable water bottle (handy for beach days and poolside lounging)
    • A lightweight day bag or backpack for Port Adventures
    • Motion sickness remedies (just in case—we’ve never needed them, but it’s better to be prepared!)
    • Magnet decorations for your stateroom door—it’s a fun tradition and makes your room easy to find!
    • A sweater or light jacket—the theaters and restaurants can sometimes feel a bit chilly

One final tip: make sure everyone downloads the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app before you board. It becomes your go-to tool during the cruise for activity schedules, dining menus, and more!

I hope this helps you and your crew feel ready to set sail for sun, sea, and unforgettable memories! You’re in for a cruise filled with magic, laughter, and maybe even a little extra pixie dust.

Sea ya real soon with a splash of April fun and a boatload of Disney magic,
    Dustin
