We have a package staying at Swan for 9 nights in May! Our package has 5-day park tickets. What if we decide not to use the park tickets and tour the close by resorts? Can we get a refund for the tickets or move the date? We have not made final payment.

Hey Howdy Hey Andrew and welcome to planDisney!

Wow, I bet you are getting super excited about your stay coming up at Walt Disney World Swan Hotel! I love this hotel for so many reasons, but the convenience of staying right in the Magic just a boat ride away from the Theme Parks and Disney's Boardwalk are of the top reasons I would recommend this hotel to any guest. One great benefit of booking a vacation package for Walt Disney World Resort is the ability to modify your plans easily at almost any time. Considering you are thinking of these modifications so early, you have so many more options, so let's jump right in to discuss your questions.

Although my family and I love the Theme Parks, we really do enjoy our time resort hopping and checking out all that there is to offer with other resorts. There is so much to see and the convenience of visiting multiple resorts with Disney Resort Transporation allows you to do so without a worry. I would encourage you to decide before your final payment is due, 30 days before your date of arrival with vacation packages, if you would like to reduce your park tickets to four instead of five days. After your make your final payment, you are not able to do this easily and any changes to your reservation within 30 days of your date of arrival do come with change fees. To not have to worry about this hassle, try to finalize your plans before your final payment. You can also change the dates of your tickets if you would like. You have until midnight ET the night before your ticket use date to change the date of usage. You can do this right from your My Disney Experience app. Just be aware that if you select a day that is more expensive than what you paid, you will be charged the difference.

If you do decide to visit some of the resorts, I would suggest taking advantage of Disney Skyliner. With a short boat ride over to EPCOT, you can catch the skyline for a trip to either Disney's Riviera Resort or Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort and maybe have a dining reservation at either for a great evening experience. I love any excuse to take flight on Disney Skyliner as well. Views from here aren't like any other, it is so relaxing and such a fun mode of transportation.

Best wishes on your continued planning and I hope you continue to enjoy the planning process. I feel it is half of the fun! Let us know if you have any other questions.

    Happy planning,

    Nick
