Hi, Biankha, and welcome to planDisney! Thanks for bringing your shopping question to us so we can check out your options for storing your purchases.
Biankha, you are speaking my love language about shopping. Like you, I am not a fan of toting bags around all day. I used to love the package pick up option at the Disney Theme Parks, and even more than that, I loved having the option to send my purchases back to my
Disney Resorts Collection Hotel. These are perks I miss so much, and it sounds like you do, too. I would seriously cheer while my bank account weeps if the news ever broke that one or both of these perks were coming back. So far, Disney hasn't announced any plans to, though, and if they do, you'll probably hear it first on their social media accounts or the
Disney Parks Blog. You are always welcome to check back with us at planDisney, too.
Until then, I have a few other options for you. If I know I'm going to be doing some serious shopping, I like to
rent a locker when I arrive at the theme parks. Each theme park offers both small and large lockers, and EPCOT and Magic Kingdom offer jumbo sizes as well. I couldn't help but notice that you are visiting Walt Disney World in December, and weather can be unpredictable then. I've found dressing in layers can be key that time of year, and the lockers are also great for storing jackets and backpacks.
Another idea I've used in the past is asking the Cast Member to help me ship my items home. If you are interested in this, be sure to ask what the shipping costs are, because they can vary. You can even get all of your purchases shipped together if you keep your receipts. Simply present your purchases with your receipts to any Cast Member at a Walt Disney World merchandise location and ask for them to be shipped together.
Biankha, since you will be visiting during the ho-ho-holiday season, be sure to keep an eye out for festive news on special events during your trip. Some of my favorites that time of year are
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party,
Disney Jollywood Nights and
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays. I've linked some information for you because it's never too soon to start dreaming and planning.
I hope you are able to shop 'til you drop during your upcoming visit and that you find plenty of treasures. Please stop back by if you have any other questions.
Have a magical trip!
Melanie
