Yo Ho, Tammy and welcome back to planDisney!
It seems to me that you're taking a leaf out of the Pirate Handbook and looking to wield some weaponry as you come aboard! I've experienced buccaneers bearing toy weapons as they revel in
Pirate Night festivities over the years, but there have also been other years where any replica weaponry - plastic, toy or otherwise - were not allowed to be brought on board. In my experience, I've definitely purchased a plastic sword from
Mickey's Mainsail to live out my swashbuckling adventures out on deck, but there was a time that even these were unavailable.
Taking a look at the most current
Prohibited Items list for Disney Cruise Line, it appears that they've more recently made certain exceptions for Toys. At the present time this includes toy Pirate Swords and even more specifically, store-bought Light Sabers and toy versions of Mjolnir, which may prove handy for
Star Wars-themed sailings and
special Marvel celebrations on board.
I spoke with a Disney Cruise Line Cast Member who confirmed that while inflatable toy swords may be currently allowed, this policy may be subject to change at any time without prior notice and may also be up to the discretion of the Crew Members on board. (She also made sure to note that even with the policy currently in place, any item may be seized by the crew if deemed to be a safety risk or something that endangers fellow guests on board.)
Feel free to come back to planDisney any time to
ask me about any other pirate treasures or contraband you'll want to bring on board, or any other questions to help you prepare to sail the seas!
Wishing you all the best on your upcoming swashbuckling sojourn - but just be careful where you swing that thing!
